We’re back this week and we’re super excited to share the greatness that was the Lucky wedding. Kate and Jared held their perfect Pacific Northwest themed reception here at The Aerie. They were able to plan their grand affair from the east coast, with the help of Aerie coordinator Chelsea Hutchinson.
The ceremony and reception were held Saturday, July 28th. The ceremony was a magnificent affair held at the Old Church in downtown Portland. It included both the bride and groom's college choirs. Guests even received a special treat when Kate and Jared joined them in singing for the final song. It was wonderful way to wrap up the ceremony before guest headed to Happy Valley for the reception.
When guests arrived, they were ushered to our Marquee Tent for cocktail hour, where they could snack on a charcuterie board, cheese and bread. The bar featured all local wine, beer, and cider. Along with the classic alcohol bar, there was also coffee pour over bar featuring local brews. It was very important to the bride and groom that everything be sourced locally.
Local food was also served for dinner. The buffet featured 3 entrees, two sides and a salad. Everything was picked from our regular menu except for one special entree. Our chef was able to make Kate’s favorite hazelnut chicken. It was the perfect addition to their selection of food and tied everything back to their Pacific Northwest theme.
Along with the tent The Aerie provided, there was a rental tent directly outside the ballroom. The tent featured a dance floor that guest danced the night away on. Local band Dancehall Days created the perfect ambiance so that guests could let loose and have fun.
If guests ended up getting hungry again, they could snack on something sweet. In addition to a variety of cupcakes, there was a s'mores bar. 1927 S'mores served up delicious treats that guests could not stop raving about.
It's only fitting that such a dazzling night ended with a sparkler send off!
